Where it began
Studio Mems was founded by Dorith in 2026, after years of frustration at being unable to find the right pillow for her couch. Most of the pillows she found were small square pillows that lacked personality and didn’t offer the playfulness and comfort she was looking for.
Determined to create the pillow she had always been looking for, Dorith started experimenting. The first design was bright green, asymmetrical and had five long playful arms that wrapped around the body. It wasn’t perfect but it felt alive. That first pillow became the beginning of Studio Mems.
A MORE PLAYFUL WORLD
What started with one pillow soon became something bigger. Dorith realised she wasn't just designing a more playful and comfortable pillow. She was creating an object that changed how people experienced their everyday spaces and moments. A soft companion that invites you to smile, slow down, curl up with a book or catch up with a friend. Today, our mission is simple: to create playful objects that make everyday life a little less ordinary. We started by reimagining one of the most overlooked objects in the home: the square pillow.
OUR WORK
Studio Mems creates slowly and intentionally. Every piece begins with a familiar object, a simple observation or an everyday moment. Through sketching, experimentation and craftsmanship, those ordinary beginnings are transformed into objects that invite people to pause, smile and look again.
Every collection is produced in small batches from our studio in the Netherlands. Alongside its independent collections, we collaborate with brands to explore new materials, techniques, and uses for its designs.
