The start
She lived in an old 1910's apartment, filled with stained glas doors and windows in shades of yellow, orange, red. Her furniture all vintage pieces collected over the years. A mid-century wooden chair with bright green seating. Orange fauteuils reminiscent of the space age. A blue glass side table with a thick chrome leg. She had one problem. Her couch.
A rounded piece with no arms loosely placed on curved wooden legs, covered in a hand sewn beige linen fabric. She adored it, but always knew there was something off. Something missing. To her, living spaces and furniture are more than functional. It reflects who she is, her personality, memories, values. In her world, chairs and tables are not static objects but characters with a story. Her couch needed colour, something to make it speak. She went to every store and could only find the familiar, the usual, the ordinary. The little square pillow. Nothing that was remotely interesting or expressive.
And so for many years, her couch laid naked, invisible, bored. One day she rushed out, bought meters of bright green fabric, grabbed the sewing machine and started making.
Finally.
Her first design drew attention for its playful form, size and vibrant colour. It told a story. What started as a personal experiment became a mission: to transform the pillow into a liveable piece of art that enlivens your everyday spaces.
And so, Studio Mems was born.

The colour, form and size are all designed to fulfill these needs, turning a basic functional item into a daily source of joy and comfort.
